History Of Shah Satnam Ji

Shahenshah Mastana Ji oversaw many a construction activity in the ashram. In this trend, in 1959 He built an Anaami round cave. Before this, Beparwah Mastana Ji Maharaj in order to test H.H. Param Pita Shah Satnam Singh Ji Maharaj ordered Him to demolish His ancestral house. As soon as He received the command, Shah Satnam Ji demolished His house with His own hands and loaded all the furnishings onto trucks and tractors and brought them to Dera Sacha Sauda and later on distributed them among the devotees who had come to the Satsang. Some of the bricks and girders that were brought were used in the construction of the Anaami round cave. After Beparwah Mastana Ji Maharaj left His mortal form and Param Pita Shah Satnam Singh Ji Maharaj took over the responsibility of the ashram, He constructed a big hall near the main gate of the ashram for the comfort of the devotees. Also, many a construction activity was carried out in the courtyard of the ashram as the need arose.

His holiness Shah Satnam Singh Ji was born on 25 January, 1919 in the blessed village of Sri Jalalana Sahib in Haryana, India. His father was Vareyam Singh Ji and mother was Mata Aas Kaur Ji. Both his parents were of a religious nature and were pious souls.

His holiness took over the reins of Dera Sacha Sauda from Shah Mastana Ji, and under his spiritual leadership the organization grew in leaps and bounds. His holiness imparted the Naam to more than 12 lakh people and showed them the path of humanity, love and brotherhood.

His holiness steered lakhs of people away from non-vegetarianism, alcoholism, using intoxicants, and committing adultery. His holiness extended the ashram that were constructed by Shah Mastana Ji and also built a new ashram in the village of Barnawa in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh. His holiness wrote 20 books and composed 1,500 songs of devotion and qawwalis that are so effective and the language of which is so simple that even a child can grasp the meanings.

His holiness implemented the desire of Shah Mastana Ji and performed the marriages of the young men and women of the families of Dera followers at the Dera itself, thus establishing a new healthy tradition. The marriages here are held in a very simple manner without resorting to superstitions, empty rituals, extravagant spending, or the giving and taking of dowry. This custom of simple marriages is followed even today at the ashram.
